Civics education
We teach girls and their families how government works, from the local school board to the national stage. Learning how decisions are made is the first step to making better ones.
Who we are
We are a community of women who believe our girls deserve safe places to grow, a voice that is heard, and the knowledge to help shape the world they will inherit. We teach civics, we show up in our communities, and we build safer futures together. Learn what exploitation looks like in your community, including drugs, guns, and human trafficking, so you can help build the next generation of defense.
Civic Women began with a simple question: how do we help our girls feel powerful in a world that often makes decisions for them?
The answer is knowledge and connection. When girls understand how laws are made, how budgets work, and how their voice can reach city hall, they gain tools to protect themselves and their neighbors. When women walk beside them, they gain a circle that will not let them go it alone.
Three pillars guide our work. Each one supports the others.
We teach girls and their families how government works, from the local school board to the national stage. Learning how decisions are made is the first step to making better ones.
We show up. We register to vote, attend town halls, speak at public meetings, and serve on the boards that shape our communities. We help girls practice that voice before they need it.
We connect safety to civic life: knowing your rights, recognizing warning signs, finding trusted adults, and building neighborhoods where girls can walk, learn, and play without fear.
A city council decides how streetlights and safe routes to school are funded. A school policy decides how bullying is handled. A community vote decides who keeps watch over public safety. These are not distant topics. They are the rules of daily life.
When girls understand that link, they can ask better questions, speak up at the right moment, and help build the safety they deserve.
Every decision starts with what is best for the girls we serve.
Clear, honest information helps girls and families act with confidence.
Community change needs people who attend, speak, vote, and stay.
We lift each other, and we make room for every woman at the table.
